The MZ6 series is used as a temperature sensor, which has the advantages of small size and low heat capacity, 

and can effectively display the overheating condition of power components in switching power supplies.

As shown in FIG. 1, under normal ambient temperature, PTC thermistor resistance Rp is less than Rs, and the output voltage is low. 

When the ambient temperature exceeds the set temperature, PTC thermistor resistance Rp rapidly rises beyond Rs, 

thus causing V to increase to a high enough voltage to operate (FIG. 2).
